Centre for the Moving Image

The Centre for the Moving Image in Edinburgh was given a donation of £1,050 in November 2019. This grant was for Senior Selections, a volunteer-led programme of film screenings curated by and for older people. Events are very popular, with people attending from across Edinburgh, West Lothian and Fife.
Fighting All Cancers Together

The Gateshead-based charity was given £1,500 to support the service for the over-65s. During 2020, FACT carried out a remote service involving check-up chats and a counselling service. FACT also delivered food parcels and essential packs to vulnerable older people in the community.
The Helpful Bureau, Nottinghamshire

An award of £2,500 was given in 2018 to support the Lunch Club at The Helpful Bureau in Stapleford. Part of the donation was used for a Christmas lunch and carol singing, which was organised by volunteers.
St Chad’s Church, Coventry

St Chad’s was given £800 in 2018 to purchase a tea urn, chairs and a variety of kitchen items for use by the Golden Years Elders’ Club. The club aims to reduce isolation, build and maintain friendships and involve older people in activities throughout the year.
Shapeshifter Productions, London

Shapeshifter Productions received a grant in 2018 to assist the charity in its delivery of participatory music sessions to 17 different care homes and day centres. St Barnabas House in the South East of England was awarded £2,000 in 2017 to pilot a music therapy programme. A six-week pilot was organised with weekly sessions lasting 45 minutes.
