Based in West Lothian, Voluntary Sector Gateway runs the Garden Angels project for which volunteers help isolated elderly people with their gardens. Volunteers, who also work as social contacts, help recover neglected gardens or prevent well-kept gardens from falling into disrepair. The aim is to increase exercise, community connection and quality of life. The charity was awarded £2000 for equipment and materials to aid the continuation of this project.
